Erica Pugh
YOGA TEACHE
Erica is where science, creativity, and compassion collide. She started yoga in 2007 when a college roommate dragged her to a class at their school gym, and never quite left the mat. She completed her 200-hour training here at the studio in 2015, and went on to earn a doctorate in occupational therapy with a research focus on mindfulness and yoga for school-aged children. She is also certified in chair yoga and trained in ChildLight Yoga and Mindfulness for Children. She teaches on the faculty at Temple University, and travels every year to Guatemala on a medical mission with Hearts in Motion. None of which she will mention herself.
What you’ll feel in her class is something simpler. She teaches gentle yoga with the kind of clarity that comes from someone who actually understands how bodies work. Her instructions are precise without being fussy. She offers options without making anyone feel singled out. Whether you’re 5 or 50, she has a way of making yoga feel both fun and serious at once.
“Erica has a soothing, supportive, sensitive approach to leading her gentle yoga class, which perfectly aligns with my physical strengths and challenges. Always a treat to be in her class.” R.R.
“Very thorough, gentle and relaxing with soft music. Loved it.” A.C.
“It was nicely paced, stretchy and soothing, and Erica offered me a couple of poses to address a knot in the right side of my mid-back.” R.R.
