Yoga Retreat at the Beach

A wellness vacation @ Blue - The Inn on the Beach

The Prancing Peacock Yoga Studio is proud to announce another amazing retreat at Blue, The Inn on the Beach! Nestled on the edge of a sleepy shore community on Plum Island, this private resort is just outside the historic New England fishing town of Newburyport, Massachusetts.

Join us for four days on one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast. Our yoga retreat has been thoughtfully developed to combine wellness with living well. Nourish your body and spirit with mindful yoga practices and as each day of your relaxing retreat unfolds, let the tranquility of the ocean soothe you and help put things back in perspective. Allow yourself to also nourish your palate with delicious, healthy food prepared with locally grown produce and fresh seafood. You can be as busy or laid back as you like!

This is retreat life at Blue, the inn on the beach! It is steps away from Parker River National Wildlife Reservation, and just five minutes from Newburyport, known for its sailing, fishing, and shopping. This retreat is limited to 20 people.

Retreat Activities:

  • Thursday: Arrive at this beautiful island at 4pm and settle in. The staff will find you immediately, taking care of bags and making sure you are comfortable. Join us for refreshments in the Grand Salon, and then explore the Inn or take a walk on the beach or even a dip in the ocean. A yoga class follows that lets you unwind, and stretch out any tightness from your journey here. A beautifully prepared dinner prepared with fresh local ingredients will be served. Take time to enjoy the sunset or more time on the beach. There is a wonderful deck space outside of the ocean front suites to sit on and listen to the water. If you like, yoga nidra will be offered in the Penthouse studio later in the evening.
  • Friday: If you are an early bird, make a cup of coffee or tea right in your room, and then join us for a morning sunrise meditation walk on the beach. There is nothing like the glistening of the sun rising over the water. Enjoy your breakfast hamper, or save it for after yoga! A detoxifying yoga class is next in the Penthouse studio, followed by free time to relax in one of Blue's hot tubs, or a dip in the ocean. Brunch is served midday in the Grand Salon, followed by more free time, to explore the island, or go into Newburyport for shopping, or enjoying the beautiful architecture. Be back in time for restorative yoga in the afternoon, and then we will make our way into town to board the beautiful 48-foot catamaran we have booked for a sunset dinner and cruise! The evening includes stargazing, wave watching or more yoga nidra before you drift off to sleep with the sound of the ocean right outside your door.
  • Saturday: This day is a wonderful repetition of the day before, with walks on the beach, morning vinyasa and afternoon restorative yoga classes, free time to just relax, and dinner on the beach. Later in the evening, attend Trance dance and dance your cares away in this joyful guided dance that is fun, empowering and will probably shake a few pounds off of you!
  • Sunday: Don't miss a minute of this last day. We begin again with a meditative walk on the beach as the sun rises, and then we will enjoy another vinyasa class to further ground us before our final goodbyes. Stop by the Grand Salon to pick up your snack bag for the way home. Check out is 12 noon!
